Community Impact
Nacogdoches County United Way is working towards the Community Impact Model, in which resources are funneled towards the greatest needs in our community. This is done through a process involving a community needs assessment and establishing goals and tracking mechanisms. Every dollar, hour and in-kind donation makes a difference, and under the Community Impact Model, donators and contributors will begin to see the impact in the community as NCUW tracks results.
More information will be posted as NCUW progresses through this process.
NCUW partners with many agencies and programs through funding, advocacy, and volunteerism. Our community is very fortunate to have so many different ways to meet the needs of our residents and neighbors. NCUW has developed a Partner Agency Guide, with the name, contact information and description of each agency and what resources they can provide. If you know of an agency, organization or program that assists residents of Nacogdoches or Shelby Counties and want to make sure it is included, please contact us at info@unitedwaynac.com
Our Work
NCUW benefits the Nacogdoches area by pooling donations and resources. Large or small, all donations and resources count.
FamilyWize
FamilyWize is a community service partnership established to reduce the cost of medicine for children, families and individuals with no prescription drug coverage by $100 million in five years. Nacogdoches County United Way is participating in this effort by distributing FamilyWize Prescription Discount Cards in our community.
The FamilyWize prescription drug discount cards are available for people in our community to help lower the cost of their medicine. The cards are free to the public and there is no enrollment fees or sign up necessary.
The discount cards can be used by anyone who does not have prescription drug coverage or for any medication not covered through insurance, Medicaid or Medicare plans. The prescription drug discount cards are accepted at most major pharmacies.
If you need a card, contact Nacogdoches County United Way at (936)-564-5869 or download and print your own card from the FamilyWize Website at www.familywize.com
